Manufacturers Chart the Path for a Comprehensive Critical Minerals Strategy
Washington, D.C. –Manufacturerstodayareurging policymakersto enact a modern, comprehensivepolicy agendato secure access to critical mineralsforboth the industry and thenation—one thatgeneratesnew pipelines for critical mineralprojects at home while securing diversified access to vital manufacturing inputs sourcedglobally.To advance this agenda, theNational Association ofManufacturersshared withtheUnited States Trade Representativea framework to rebalance global supply chains with plurilateral partners.

With China dominating global supply chains, manufacturers can no longer risk these vulnerabilities.

The 51Թ’s two-pronged policyframeworkoffers specific, complementarydomestic and international policy recommendations to the Trump Administration and Congress.On the domestic front, it calls forenacting comprehensive permitting reform and making strategic energy incentives permanent.Internationally,the51Թurges theadministration to negotiate aplurilateralagreementthat positions U.S. investors for success andleveragesthecollectiveadvantagesof international partners and alliesacross every stage of thecriticalmineralslife cycle—effectively rebalancingthe global market for critical minerals.
